Restoring Firefox Tabs

Help! I've lost all my Firefox tabs!

Occasionally Firefox doesn't correctly restore the tabs you had open last time you were using it. I think this has something to do with popup or downloads windows being present when it was closed. Anyway, it can be a real pain, and here's a solution to get all of those pages back:

1. Close Firefox (you might want to make a note of the rest of these instructions first).

2. Open the folder C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. This folder contains another folder with a strange looking name - go into that. There you will find a file called sessionstore.js, and hopefully sessionstore.bak as well.

3. Remove sessionstore.js by deleting it, renaming it, or moving it to another folder.

4. Rename sessionstore.bak to sessionstore.js.

5. Now restart Firefox, and you should have all of your tabs back again.
